Kids to Camp Awards

Kids to Camp Scholarship Award

Our beautiful Krista, who was nicknamed “Kiki” by her two year old nephew, was a generous, kind young woman, who wanted to help make the world a better place.  Kiki passionately embraced all life had to offer.  She loved to play the piano, dance, sing, write, act on stage and in films, plant gardens, read, walk on the beach, and make scrumptious meals and desserts.  She was a gal on the go who enjoyed swimming, rowing, riding horses, running, rollerblading, and any kind of outdoor fun.  She also enjoyed taking on a “friendly” game of Monopoly, Scrabble, Chess or Jeopardy… or watching the Red Socks (win) with her dad.

Krista was called to leave this beautiful earthly life she lived so passionately. Those who loved her promised to remember her in a joyful way and we do that by giving kids the chance to stretch their wings, try new things, gain new skills, make new friends and have some FUN!

This scholarship exists to honor Krista’s playful nature, active lifestyle and her work as a teen camp counselor and lifeguard.   She was a natural at nurturing campers as young as 5 years to enjoy their camp activities. It was exhilarating and exhausting work,  but also rewarding,  to  see kids gain new skills and build confidence.  We give kudos to camp counselors everywhere who, like our gal, work hard providing a great camp experience while keeping everyone safe.
